Seat of Power

In my home town in England, the Union flag flies over the local town hall.  When I was young this was the seat of government. The town council met here on a monthly basis, and every Thursday the local dignitaries met as Justices of the Peace and passed judgment in the local Magistrates Court.

Sadly the local court has gone, and the local council meet elsewhere. The Town Hall is occupied by Social workers, and was up for sale when I visited at Christmas 2011.
